Masonville-Buckhorn-Rist Canyon

There is a reason why so many riders from Colorado are such solid climbers…they climb a lot! This route climbs around Horsetooth Reservoir, descends down into Masonville where the fun really starts. You climb for the next 15-miles to the tippy top of Ford Hill. It’s beautiful and low traffic. Enjoy a snack, take in the views and gather your wits at the top of Ford Hill. You’ll then descent Rist Canyon for the next 10-miles before heading back to town.

The Stats:

  • Distance: 43 miles

  • Climbing: 4300 feet

  • Category: Solid

Notes: Descending Rist is no joke. Have good working brakes and always be aware of your surroundings.

Refills: Refill at Horsetooth Mountain Park, Masonville Mercantile, and coffee at Me Oh My Pie.

Tires: We like the WTB Exposure as a tubeless option.
