Classic Carter Lake

A very classic road loop from Fort Collins with a good amount of not-too-long climbs. You’ll find that Carter Lake is a road that both cyclists from the Boulder area and Fort Collins converge.

The Stats:

  • Distance: 55 miles

  • Climbing: 3500 feet

  • Category: Solid

Notes: This route is also ones of the best ones in the mountains in winter because it is extremely summer and has the lowest chance of ice in the road.

Refills: Horsetooth Mountain Park, Carter Lake Marina (also water spigot on south side of road).

Tires: We like the WTB Exposure as a tubeless option.
