200K of Awesomeness

200k of mostly gravel, all from your door. Does it get better than that? Don’t think so. Park Creek Rez - Pain in the Ass Pass- County Rd 82E -Prairie Divide - Red Feather Lakes. Stop at the store in Red Feather for water and snacks. Manhattan Road eventually spits you out in Rustic for another refill opportunity. A fast jaunt down the Poudre for 5 miles gets you back to gravel up Pingree Park. When we did this route, Crown Point water was still out. Up and over the backside of Pennock Pass is the final big climb for the day. There is water at the ranger station maybe 2-3 miles over the top of Pennock on the South side of the road. Careful on the decent as some of the gravel is super loose, but overall, it’s a fantastic final big descent. Wrap back around through Masonville for a final coke at the Mercantile store before up and over the final short climbs back into town.

Overall the climbs are pretty steep- especially the climbing up to Red Feather Lakes- but really beautiful. A significant portion of the time we were riding 5-7mph up the steep extended climbs. What goes up must come down, so there is also some super fun descending to match the long and steep climbs. It took us about 7:42 to complete at a consistent effort.

The Stats:

  • Distance: 125 miles

Notes: Some of the single track is quite technical.
